The Den

The Den Flyer Website

The Den is run by our Youth Minister and our fantastic DBS cleared volunteers.

The Den is a group that has been created for the young people in our community aging from current school year group 6 through to year 10.  It’s a safe place to meet their friends, make new ones and find a sense of belonging.

The Den runs throughout term times on Thursday evenings between 5.00pm and 7pm; this group can be found in the basement of Christ Church.

Our young people come along each week to have a safe space to relax and interact with friends and peers, as well as to grow new relationships supported by appropriate role models and mentors around them.  The Den offers young people a place to stay off the streets, engage in different activities (such table football and maybe a spot of gardening!) and to listen to music. Of course, our free wi-fi is a pull too!

The aim for The Den is for our young people to foster positive relationships and deepen their social skills in readiness for the next stage of their lives.  We want them to feel that Christ Church is a place to belong and a place where they are accepted and valued for who they are.  The Den is a place they are listened to.

The cost of The Den is £1.50 per person and this includes food and all activities.

Trips/Days Out:

Last summer, we were lucky enough to be able to take the children bowling as an end of term treat.  As you can see from the photos below, everyone had a great time:

Also, this May (2024), we took some of our Den members on an outdoors trip to Rock UK.  https://rockuk.org/about-us/
They took part in outdoor activities including survival skills and orienteering. Before we had even finished our day, they were asking to come back so watch this space for further adventures!!  See photos below for some of the fun they had!!
