Anchored

community outreach website

With a strong ethos on providing a safe place to belong, a significant part of Christ Church vision is to be at the heart of our local community. Anchored is a new social outreach project set up to reach out into our community and provide intergenerational activities that build resilience, improve wellbeing, reduce loneliness and help our community to integrate. It will include our current outreach programmes, Communitea Plus and Start-a-Fresh.

Communitea Plus.
This is a vibrant and diverse group of people that meet every Wednesday during term time at Christ Church.  Each session, members are served hot food and pudding (£5 per person), learn new skills and also engage in fun activities such as Bingo, crafts, talks, raffles etc. The group is open to anyone over 18 to 99+!
Sessions are between 11am till 2pm every Wednesday and transportation can be arranged (An extra £3 for a return journey) for those who live in Stamford, who are not so mobile and may find it difficult to attend otherwise.
Communitea Plus is more than just a community, it's a family!  Members look out and care for one another, welcoming new members also with open arms.  Volunteers are also welcome.  If interested, please contact jacqui@christchurchstamford.com

Start-a-Fresh.
Start-a-Fresh is a support group for people that may have encountered a crisis in their lives. Individuals with mental health challenges, learning disabilities or find themselves socially disadvantaged or excluded.

Anyone over the age of 18 years old that lives in Stamford or local surrounding areas is welcome to join us. We operate an open-door policy to anyone in our community that feels socially disadvantaged or excluded. Our Start-a-Fresh befriending group in Stamford takes place twice a week on Mondays and Fridays; from 1pm-3pm.  We issue a programme of events and activities at the beginning of each term so you know what to expect. Start-a-Fresh runs in term times only.

The aims and objectives of Start-a-Fresh are to treat everyone with dignity and respect, to provide a safe place for members to belong and encourage whole person wellbeing. We aim to provide general pastoral and befriending support for adults, helping our members to build self-esteem, learn new skills and move forward in their lives, working towards a more autonomous lifestyle. We work in partnership with other service providers to help us achieve the best outcomes for members.

Please do get in touch if you would like to know more about any of these activities.
